Calico Stock Trailer Reviews

The concrete pillars

Martone's film "We believed " has aroused great enthusiasm in the criticism. I felt it was important (not to mention that I really liked). There are those who turn up their noses because maybe the historical reconstruction is not perfect - or maybe it is not in line with the well-thought?

It 'true that is not news that the unification of Italy' has been implemented badly. The movie, about this, does not add historical, but there is something more: there is a perception that not only speaks of the Risorgimento, it also speaks of 'today, is the conviction that the unification of Italy is by no means a closed issue.

During the film signals that appear closer to the present, little details, until you get to frame a building under construction, which is evident in the use of cement concrete in these columns, so incongruous on which the camera focuses us back to our painful situation of the country divided and tired.

I'll be a sentimentalist, but seeing the disappointment in finding Domenico the failure of the ideals of social justice and democratic freedom for which he had suffered so much, made me sick to my throat.
